LinuxForum
I have been working on my presentation for Linux Forum this week. Preparing it has been a lot of work. Phew…
It’s an introductory talk. I’m going show some of the fancy new stuff we have, in the context of a sample application.
The app is a revamped survey app, the one in the CatWalk tutorial. Instead of building the forms in Kid, I use
widgets and a TableForm to generate the whole enchilada, even validators to enforce data integrity.
Some more time spend on it will actually yield a useful application.
Heck, I even made a logo for it:

The talk will be in danish, but I plan to translate it and use it for a screencast next week (if time permits).
I’ve also facelifted the ToolBox for the occasion. I haven’t committed the changes yet, I rather wait a bit to be sure I don’t grow tired of it.
Here are some shots though.

Great work Ronald!
) and really looking forward to see it hitting svn.
I’m loving the new Toolbox (and Catwalk in blue
Then the last thing we need is:
- a new in-style turbogears under the hood logo
- a new quickstarted page that looks cool like the new site and toolbox
Maybe when you are less busy!
Ciao and keep up the great work!

Thanks,
Michele- I’m missing a more stylish quickstart page too. I’m kind of waiting for the final look of the new web site to settle before I go ‘all blue’

Hey, Ronald! Excellent face lift on Toolbox!
It makes us willing to use it more often

Anders: I’m happy to hear that!! It was a shame that I didn’t manage to allot time for questions at the end. That tends to give me an idea of what people got out of a talk. Anyway, I appreciate your feedback and I’m glad you enjoy it.

Mike, Jorge, Michele & Diwaker: I have a couple of clean ups to do next week before I commit the new look - xplatform css -. I’m glad you like it.

I also attended your presentation at Linux Forum and I must say that your talk was the most inspiring of them all. Very well prepared and witty. I’m impressed about how much you got crammed in to the approx. 50 min. As you say it was a shame that there wasn’t time for questions at the end. I was the one who asked you about djangoproject.
For some time I have been looking for a python web framework and thought that I would start using djangoproject but your presentation changed my mind.
Hopefully I will have time to contribute to the project.

Excellent work Ronald, it seems you have evangelized TG quite well at LinuxForum!
I’m impatient to see your screencast!
